Having just visited Au Sable Point this past summer.... enjoyed reading your book on the lighthouse from cover to cover...including the pages in between.
Nice website as well.

Enjoyed your ghost town article. I am looking for any information about Joan Newton Cuneo's meetings with Henry Ford. She was the most famous women driver in the first two decades of the 20th century, See "Mad for Speed, the Racing Life of Joan Newton Cuneo." Cuneo moved to Okanagon in the twenties and her grand-daughter who lives in Marquette assures me that Joan knew Henry and advised him about auto design Unfortunately no paper trail yet.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your posted account of Angelique Mott's trial on Isle Royale. I have been transfixed by her story and glad to see that she lives on in the imagination of other people too. Thanks also for your glimpses of U.P. life; my dad is a Yooper expat and I pointed him in your direction. The old photo of St. Ignace currently posted is very cool. I really enjoy the way you dwell on uncommon, common history in the region and look forward to your future missives.
